ISOLATION

It is for THURSDAY POETRY COMPETITION by Penable https://penableme.wordpress.com/2020/05/07/thursday-poetry-competition/

And topic assigned is ISOLATION, here is what I have written

In that big room

Everything was so quiet

Lying on a hospital bed

She was counting her last breath

With no loved one by her side

All alone and isolated

she was crying inside

Her heartache

And she suffered in despair

Felt the emptiness

Fighting a deadly disease

Her life flashed like a movie

Reminding her old days

What she had done

People she had met

all dreams she had seen

Missing her beloved

All her regrets, all her guilt

All her wishes

The blissful time she had

All memories she recollects

Losing herself bit by bit

Succumbing to death slowly

Her spirits were now giving up

Surrounded by machines

Only sound her ears could now hear

Ventilator giving her breathes

That she might survive to live amplest

No human face could be glimpsed

Even doctors and nurses were all concealed

Giving her faith

Keeping her hope

Trying their best to save the precious soul

That was all they could do

Even they felt helplessness

she thought this was not

How she wanted to depart from this world

In isolation and loneliness

She pitied for herself

But satisfied at least her dearest ones were safe

Wishing their happiness always

Then suddenly there was a beep

Flatline on ECG

She vanished

and was consigned to the grave

All alone and isolated

Yet again

Even her loved ones were not able to pay her last rites

And they moaned her death silently
